Synopsis

Eugenio Jalón is a confident and good-natured young man who has never left his village, Segorbe, and thinks that life is wonderful. But he soon discovers the other side of the coin, after setting off on a journey to Barcelona to visit his sister, who works as an artist. During the journey, she goes to fetch water at the first stop and misses the train. In addition, a very clever man takes advantage of her good faith and steals her wallet. Everything gets complicated. Still, broke and stranded in Benicarló, he meets sweet Mercedes, the only person in the world who will make him believe again in the goodness of people.
