Synopsis

Father Justo lives in a coastal village on the Spanish Levante coast. This priest is very much loved by all the villagers because he is very helpful and listens to them. Agapito, another of the characters, is the communist mayor of this town and has a daughter who gets pregnant by her boyfriend. This boy is the son of the village doctor. Fearing his father’s reaction, he says that his girlfriend’s son belongs to the priest.

Justo finds himself in the middle of all this plot, unable to do anything about it because of the secret of confession.

Overwhelmed by everyone, Agapito, the bishop and the doctor, decides to hang up his habits; and shortly afterwards, with the support of his neighbours, he manages to bring the truth to light.
