It is a project to improve the quality of tourist destinations promoted by the Secretariat of State for Tourism (SETUR), with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which works with tourist services of up to 37 different trades, with the ultimate goal of improving the experience and satisfaction of tourists.

The SCTE Destination-Sicted is a methodology that provides a comprehensive and permanent quality management system in a tourist destination, with a new conception of the expected results, a focus on continuous improvement and an attitude of recovery and enhancement of resources and spaces.

The SCTE Destinations-Sicted is based on an integral awareness of the destination and on the identification of common objectives of the agents involved.

The SCTE Destinations-Sicted aims for a homogeneous level of quality in the services offered to tourists within the same destination, so that there are no substantial quality deficiencies between the different products (agents) that make up the offer at the destination, and thus, negative conditioning factors in the perception and satisfaction of tourists.

Among other tools, it has 37 good practice manuals, one for each trade. It offers member tourist services a training plan, technical assistance visits by approved consultants, collective workshops, working groups that develop improvement proposals for the destination and evaluations that contrast the adequacy of the tourist service with the quality standards. All of this culminates in the awarding of the Tourism Quality Commitment distinction.

This is awarded to tourist services that have accredited compliance with the established requirements. It is a recognition of the effort and commitment to quality and continuous improvement, at the same time as it distinguishes the tourist service from the competition. The award is valid for two years, although it is subject to an annual follow-up evaluation.
